I’m back (and I’m on time for once!)
This week almost writes itself … enjoy
Ahhh, and relax. Almost the end of a hectic week, so I’ve cracked a beer – A London Brewers Alliance Collaborative Stout by The Kernel, if you must know – and am trawling tunes. Bliss
Sorry it’s a bit late but here’s my last show, warts ‘n all.
You should know the drill by now – some funk, some reggae, some beats, some breaks, some bleeps.
Get involved (below the fold obvs)
Ahoy kids
Do you like Christmas?
Do you like Jumpers?
Do you like really bad Christmas Jumpers?
Hell, even if you don’t, you should bimble on down to Basement 45 this Saturday to see yours truly dropping beats and breaks in Rooms 2 alongside Teddy G, Si Macc & Rob Helps. If that’s not your kind of thing Empathy stalwart Stu Wilkinson is heading up the main Room alongside Riddle, Cornelius and Dan Robbins for the house heads
See you there – decked in Granny’s finest knitted monstrosity, obviously.
Well, ok, Three on a Friday, and after missing last week entirely.
I know, I’m useless.
Sorry.
Tunes to make up for it?
Evening
I’ve been in the pub for the last few hours, so intro writing is a bit much right now
Tunes below the fold
It’s that time of the week again – new tunes to my ears dropped into yours.
IF you like this sort of thing there’s a stack of good stuff on the go at the mo.
Tonight the Riddim Fruit boys Rackabeat and Bar-low with at Number 51 and on Saturday is WHOMP! time again at Basement 45 on Saturday.
There’s also a chance to see me dig back into my 15 year old selfs record bag as I’m in the hot seat for Purple Radio’s School of Rock show on Friday afternoon … nary a breakbeat in sight.
Enough pimpin’, on with the tunes.
Though this blog sometimes seems to fixate upon the biggest and bounciest of Ghetto breaks and hip-hop, there is a softer, gentler, more cuddly side to your humble blogger, and the new Jesse Futerman EP is definitely appealing to it.
I know, I know – I missed one. As in ‘totally missed’ rather than ‘was a day late’. The only excuse I have is that I managed to leave my laptop charger was in the Midlands, whilst my laptop was in Bristol, with the two only being reunited on New Years Eve which to be honest was when I was more interested in attempting to drink my own bodyweight in booze. I succeeded in this mission so well, that the next couple of days were a bit ropey and low an behold a week was missed
Sorry.
Well, now the grovelling is over let’s get involved shall we?
