Ctrl:Alt:TheBeat Show Archive now up!

I’ve decided it’d be nice to try and make available as many of my old Ctrl:Alt:TheBeat shows as I can for you all. A few misguided individuals have been in contact with me asking for more mixes, and I don’t currently have too many of them online, so I thought I’d try to change that

Most of the time I use Soundcloud to share my mixes with you – it’s got a great user interface, lets you guys comment easily and lets me embed players all over the interweb. One thing it doesn’t let you have is a lot of space to store your stuff, unless you’re willing to pay a fat wodge of your hard earned cash, meaning I can only have ten or so shows up at a time. Each time I record a new one, and old one gets sent to the great bit bucket in the sky.

Quite a few of the other Purple Radio DJs use the rather lovely and remarkably affordable Postbocks to store and share their shows. They get loads of storage space, but not too many widgets so I though I’d try it out as an archive of as many of my old shows as I can. I sadly don’t have all of them (if you do have some that aren’t in up on the archive please hit me up, I’d love to get hold of them – I might even buy you a pint for your trouble …)

If this sounds like your kind of this check out my archive on Postbocks. Shows will still debut on Soundcloud, usually a week after they went out live, but older shows will be moved over to their new home and as a reminder I’ll add a link to my ‘Mixes’ tab at the top of the page. There are also a few Saturday Soul shows and a couple of live sets over there, so plenty of variety for you …

Just a note, some of these are pretty old, so the mixing at times is more agricultural than the cast of The Archers

About djsherlockohms

Obsessive music nerd for since his formative years, Sherlock Ohms finally pulled his finger out and started inflicting his collection of Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Reggae, Breaks, Beats and random ephemera on the unwitting public in mid-2008. Since then he's graced the airwaves of Big Chill FM and Purple Radio, the stages of the Festinho festival, and the DJ booths of the UK fluffing for the likes of DJ Moneyshot, Boca 45 and Ugly Duckling. Whether it's early morning chilled wig outs, or eclectic party starting beat fests there's a reason they call him 'No Shit Sherlock' View all posts by djsherlockohms
