Three on a Thursday #31

Another week, another Three on a Thursday for you!

Before I go straight into the good stuff, a little admin is required, mostly to do with a little more information on the gigs I hinted at last week.

First up is supporting the mighty Featurecast (!) with the Regrooved boys in Bristol on the 17th of September.

On the 22nd September I’ll be at the Alley Cat Bar on Denmark St in London with Celeste Dos Santos & The Tabloid Queens.

Would be ace to see you guys at either of ’em!

Right, you’ve sat there very patiently, so now you can have some luvverly tunes.

First up this week is a cool little Latin beats number from Monetrik.  Combining smooth plucked harp and swirling organs with a classic understated funk break and a French vocal which sounds like it’s straight out of 50’s, Latin Beauty is the perfect name.

Next is an old-school soul-sampling slice of hip-hop goodness courtesy of DnS (aka Diplomew and Stan Steam). Keep Clownin’ drops slabs of west coast style over a classic summery loop. If you like this, it’s a free download, and there’s an E.P.’s worth ready to drop over here.

Hat tip to Stu Eleventhirtyeight for throwing this one over my way

Last track this week is a quality little wobbler for you.

Being a bloke, I am a massive James Bond fan – the same is obviously true of 2 time UK DMC champion,and Beardyman tour DJ, JFB. With this next track he dons the tux, and raids Q Divisions stash of beats and breaks for this  License to Kill sampling monster.

<Raises Roger Moore-esque eye brow>

About djsherlockohms

Obsessive music nerd for since his formative years, Sherlock Ohms finally pulled his finger out and started inflicting his collection of Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Reggae, Breaks, Beats and random ephemera on the unwitting public in mid-2008. Since then he's graced the airwaves of Big Chill FM and Purple Radio, the stages of the Festinho festival, and the DJ booths of the UK fluffing for the likes of DJ Moneyshot, Boca 45 and Ugly Duckling. Whether it's early morning chilled wig outs, or eclectic party starting beat fests there's a reason they call him 'No Shit Sherlock' View all posts by djsherlockohms
