B-b-b-back once again like an unreliable bastard …
Hiya!
Apologies for the missed week. So much for turning over a new leaf – I guess the best intentions go a little astray when your new child is waking up at daft o’clock and all you want to do is sleep.
Anyway, enough whinging.
Fancy some tunes?
First up a superb slice of hip-hop from Stones Throw star, Jonwayne. I first heard him on the Quakers cut from last year, where his track Smoke was one of the two stand out tracks from a ridiculously long album, alongside Fitter, Happier.
The Come Up Pt. 1 has the big fella rhyming over a Scoop DeVille beat, giving it some seriously headnodding styles.
If this is your kinda thing, scour his Cassette series of mixtapes and keep your eyes peeled for his Rap Album One LP, which drops soon
Next up is yet more hip-hop, this time from Matt ‘Frameworks‘ Brewer with ex-Vadim collaborator, Blurum 13, with their track Moonlighting
If this is up your street, the album, Brickbuilders, is over here
And to make it a clean sweep this week, yet more hip-hop, this time from Down Under, this time with Dialectrix, throwing down some First World Venom. Boom-bap-tastic nonsense from the Obese Records stalwart. Nice.
