How do you lot decide on which gigs to go to? I’m currently enjoying a surge in opportunities to go out, now the kids are a little older. Saw the awesome Mr Thing on Saturday, and tomorrow I’ve a choice of Powercut and Mr Lingo at Hy-Brasil or The Allergies and the Old Market Assembly.
Should you happen to spot a very tall beardy speccy chap in a flat cap down the front, at either of these, buy me a pint, eh?
Decisions, decisions
Missed this when it dropped a month or so back, and I’ve no idea how, as it’s so up my street, it’s practically parked outside my house.
Featuring one of the best hip-hop/funk/breaks/ghetto funk producers, Krafty Kuts and two of my favourite rhymers, Dynamite MC and the J5‘s manphibian Chali 2na on the same track, It Ain’t My Fault is pure dancefloor fyah!
Next up is Mat Hoods housey little edit of The Willow Band‘s track Willowman – a thoroughly wigged out excursion into Funk. Not heard the original, but this is a lovely little track which I can see me playing out, if not just for the guitar solos!
Heard this wonderfully chilled out sunshine-y track by The Beginning of the End on James Remote’s Flytime show on Purple Radio – properly reminded me of the late afternoon into early evening numbers you used to hear at the oft lamented Big Chill festival. This is Jamaica
