In a word – Oooof!
To those of you who came out this weekend to see me spin, you were fantastic. From the subterranean vibes of Timbuk2 on Friday night to the sweatbox that was Mr Wolfs on Saturday – seriously I will need to pack a towel next time I play there, it was so sweaty I couldn’t grip the vinyl well enough to scratch properly – that was quite the weekend.
Still in recovery mode after a fairly full few days, by my standards at least. That, combined with a 3 month old little ‘un at home and becoming a thoroughly old gimmer it takes longer to bounce back to my usual self. This might explain the slightly more relaxed track choices this week, with a classic slice of neo-soul, a disco sampling nu-funk wiggler and a wonderful piece of chilled electronica to keep you going.
Anyway, enough with the yammering, onwards!
Yes, ok, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. It’s only the second Thursday I’ve missed in six months – largely down to a week of 12hr days stuck in a hotel in the arse end of Paris with no wifi. Whoever said business travel was cool …
Right enough whinging, on with the show.
Thanks to those of you who came down to Timbuk2 on Friday – good news is they loved it and I’m back giving it some red-hot room 2 action on the 12th August whilst Nebula bosh out the DnB in the main room. Excellent.
If you can’t wait that long before a slice of Sherlock, I’m playing the upstairs bar on Big Chill Bristol with the man like Powercut from Funk from the Trunk
Onwards to the tunes!
Just a few for you, if you fancy popping out to hear my do my shizzle live in the nightclub-rave-scene.
I’ve got a couple of gigs at Big Chill Bar, Bristol, one of my tod on the 24th June, and one with Funk From The Trunk’s awesomely talented DJ Powercut on the 29th July. The third is at a new venue for me, Timbuk2 for the Dub Box Summer Sessions giving it some red hot Room 2 action alongside Riddle, Rob Helps and Teddy G.
